!!Highlight

A rare cultivar from the subtropical hills of Guangxi, grown at 650 meters, blended with osmanthus blossoms from Guilin, a city named for these flowers. The tea itself makes almost no caffeine. Each cup opens with apricot and honeyed florals, then settles into the warm brown sugar depth of a traditional black tea. Not decaffeinated. Simply what the leaf makes, and what the flowers add.

Tasting Notes:

Osmanthus | Apricot | Sugar

!!Description

From a rare cultivar grown in the subtropical hills of southern China's Guangxi province at 650 meters, this is a black tea that produces almost no caffeine on its own. Not decaffeinated, naturally so. We blend it with dried osmanthus from Guilin, the Guangxi city whose name means "forest of osmanthus." Leaf and flower come from the same corner of the world.

The osmanthus lifts the cup with apricot and a soft honeyed sweetness; beneath it, the black tea holds its ripe fruit, warm brown sugar, and a whisper of longan. Silky body, golden-amber liquor, petals visible among the leaves. Brew it after sunrise, after dinner, at the hour when everything still feels loud.

!!Caffeine

Approximately 2–3 mg per 8 oz cup.

A typical black tea contains 60–70 mg. This cultivar contains roughly 3–4% of regular black tea not through extraction or processing, but because the plant itself produces almost none. Low enough for after dinner, before bed, or any hour when you want the ritual without the lift.

!!OriginTag

Guangxi, China

!!Origin

Grown in the mist-wreathed subtropical hills of Guangxi province, southern China, at 650 meters above sea level. Warm, humid days and cool nights slow the leaves' growth, concentrating aromatic precursors while the cultivar's natural biochemistry keeps caffeine production low. The garden is tended by a single grower committed to traditional, low-intervention cultivation.
